Dear friends and family,
Greetings! Time has gone by super-fast. We finished our 4th term of mission service in Cambodia. We began our three-month home assignment in August 10 to November 10 in Canada and Hong Kong. We went to Canada to spend time with our family and friends in August. Joseph got sick; we have no family doctor so he had to go to the emergency and was hospitalized for 15 days. The doctor recommended resting at home before we go back to Hong Kong. God is good, He has healed and encouraged us. We are grateful that we could spend quality time with our two sons and families. We can understand their needs and pray for them specially. Thank you so much for your concerns and prayers.
As we contemplate at what we have done during all these years, a verse from James 5:7 “Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain.” Patience and trust are the keys in our ministry for God. Now we’re beginning to see some fruits in our church and school. In our church, the staff can stand up and lead the church and the church members are leading worship, coming to prayer meeting and going out to witness to others. We can see God’s wonderful work among us. Our staff are more committed and keener to study God’s word.
In our school with the professional and training of the short-term mission groups; our teachers have started to write meaningful lesson plans. They are more confident and focusing on the teaching the lessons.
The neighbors call our school the “Jesus’ School” and they spread the news that the “Jesus’ School” is good. Before we left Cambodia, we had 64 children in the kindergarten. Now some of them left for first grade and 3 children of our nannies went to another school with primary and secondary schools. Now we have about 50 students. There are 40 toddlers in the nursery. Praise God for leading, blessing and building our team.
Thank you for supporting us through these years in different ways. Really appreciate that. Please continue to give thanks to God and pray for us.
- The ladies at our student dorm are more interested in studying the word of God.
- Water leaking in the church building was fixed and repair was done to the water damaged ceiling. The repair work had been done over many years and finally there is no more leaking.
- Lydia our youngest daughter was engaged in June and will get married next year.
- The kindergarten has a new administrator; she is very capable of her role.
- Pray for the staff of our church and kindergarten that they can work together as a team and relate to one another as a family.
- Pray for the football team that it can become an outreach to young people.
- Pray for applying of work permit for us as foreign workers.
Thanks for praying and supporting us!
In His blessed hope,
Joseph and Liza
