Dear brothers and sisters,
“We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.”1Jn 1:3-4
Thank God for carrying us through the Easter Camp smoothly despite the fact that there were some unexpected situations because it was the first time we rented that site. There was also a higher deficit than past years. But our brothers and sisters were very cooperative. They also sent in more donations after the camp. The deficit dropped drastically. After leaving the camp, I went to have lunch with brothers and sisters before heading back home. One brother told us that he had already deleted his app on games! Praise the Lord for using our speakers to edify our brothers and sisters!
After the camp, I had to make up some baptismal classes which were missed by 3 brothers individually. Interestingly, those who were being baptised were all brothers. Normally, there were more sisters being baptised. One young sister who had come to my class a few times. Since she doesn’t know written Chinese, I asked our youth German pastor to give her the lesson. One week before the baptism was I told that she wanted to be baptised also. Because she had a hand injury, she has been waiting for it to be healed. That was why she found time to come to church and got to know Christ more seriously. One brother’s wife was baptised last year. He attended our couple fellowship a few times and decided to take the baptismal class and was baptised this year. Another brother who for the sake of his son, applied to immigrate to Germany. While waiting for the application to be processed, he entered into our church last year. He became a Christian after attending last year’s Easter Camp. This year, he had to stay for a longer period in order to be qualified for the application, he attended our baptismal class and got baptised. We also saw God’s wonderful guidance in the other 3 brothers’ testimonies. After knowing Christ themselves, they also expressed their desire to spread the gospel to their friends and family members!
One sister found a job in a remote area near Frankfurt after graduation. She is the only Chinese in that “village”. When she was diagnosed with cancer last year, she called our church for help because she needed someone to take care of her during her cancer treatment. For the first two chemical treatments, she was being taken care of by two of our sisters. When her parents finally came, I went to pick them up at the airport and drove them to their daughter’s place. Before one realised it, they have been taking care of their daughter for almost 8 months now. Besides the two days that I invited them to stay in my place in order to attend our Christmas meeting at church, they had gone nowhere. The mother usually accompanied the daughter to the hospital. During these months, they experienced our gloomy, cold winter and got sick themselves at some point. Finally, we got some sunshine in May. Last Saturday we had a very sunny day. So, I invited them to join our bible study group in Giessen. Because I offered to give them a ride, they were happy to leave the small place. They felt the warm welcome by our brothers and sisters. During our student group meeting, one elderly brother brought them to another room to spread the good news to the parents. After dinner with brothers and sisters, I drove them home. The father expressed his gratitude to me. Her daughter was very surprised to hear him say such thing for she had never heard her father said something like that before. Probably because he knew that I had to drive extra miles to pick them up and was touched by it. The parents had no contact with Christianity before. The sister told me that her father began to read the bible every now and then. Unfortunately, they have to go home next month when her daughter’s treatments will be complete.
Thanksgiving and prayer items:
- Thank God for His keeping so that with the help of brothers and sisters, the task that was given to me by the Easter Camp committee was accomplished! Pray that God will keep the brothers and sisters to walk according to what they have promised before God at the camp.
- Thank God for His salvation for the 6 brothers and sister being baptised! Pray that God will use their testimonies to witness to their family members and friends!
- Pray that God will heal the sister who got the cancer! Pray that God will give her strength to be able to work again after her complete treatment! Thank God that her parents saw the love of brothers and sisters that they were less worry for their daughter! Pray that they will come to know our God and accept His salvation!
Thank you for your prayer support! Three years will be passed soon! I will see you physically next time when I will have my furlough from June 27 to Sept. 24. Looking forward to meeting you and let’s share God’s grace together!
Serving Him,
Karen Tang
